Psychological Services of Central Illinois has been providing psychotherapeutic and general counseling services to the Springfield area since the year 2000. We now offer psychological assessment services as well, including evaluation of autism spectrum disorder, neuropsychological testing, and assessments for individuals with developmental disabilities.

Psychotherapy is not easily described in general statements.  Psychotherapy is a process that depends upon the personalities of both the provider and the client.  It also depends upon the particular life issue that you are wanting to resolve.  Our staff of doctoral level clinical psychologists and licensed clinical professional counselors pride themselves on tailoring psychotherapy to meet the needs of each individual client. Thus, there are many different methods we may use to deal with the problems that you hope to address. Common to all counseling and psychotherapy, however, is the development of a caring and confidential relationship within which you can feel safe to express your concerns and thoughts. We remain an independent practice unaffiliated with other Springfield psychological or medical practices.

Psychological assessments help you and your physician/healthcare provider obtain information to clarify diagnoses and determine what treatments or services would be most appropriate for you.  Our clinical psychologists will work with you and your physician/healthcare provider to ensure that the evaluation directly addresses your specific needs and concerns.  Evaluation results describe your strengths and resources as well as any areas where you may need more assistance.
